On May 31, 2026, Puerto Vallarta will commemorate a remarkable milestone: 108 years as a municipality and 58 years as an officially recognized city. This special date honors the transformation of the former settlement of Las Peñas into the world-renowned destination that today stands as a source of pride for Jalisco and Mexico.

To celebrate this anniversary, the Municipal Government has organized a series of free events from May 29 to May 31, inviting both residents and visitors to enjoy the city’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant community spirit.

Throughout the three-day celebration, attendees will have the opportunity to experience historical exhibitions, cultural presentations, live music, traditional folk dance performances, artistic showcases, and a special aerial acrobatics demonstration by the Mexican Air Force’s renowned “Águilas Aztecas” squadron.

Sunday, May 31, will be the main day of the celebration, featuring a civic ceremony, special recognitions, an aerial show, fireworks, and a surprise musical guest who will bring this great Vallarta celebration to a spectacular close.

More than an anniversary, this event is a tribute to the history, culture, people, and enduring spirit that have made Puerto Vallarta one of Mexico’s most beloved destinations.

Join us as we celebrate 108 years of identity, tradition, and Vallarta pride!
