Festival de las Almas 2026 in Puerto Vallarta: Day of the Dead by the Pacific
October 28 – November 3 | Free admission
Puerto Vallarta is getting ready to celebrate Day of the Dead with the Festival de las Almas 2026, bringing marigold flowers, altars, monumental Catrinas, and cultural experiences to the Malecón and Historic Center, all set against the Pacific Ocean.
Mexican Traditions by the Sea
For three days, the city will host more than 28 free experiences, including oceanfront altars, flower-decorated fishing boats, and the iconic monumental Catrina along the Malecón.
In 2025, the November 2 parade attracted more than 35,000 people, according to organizers, highlighting the festival’s importance in Puerto Vallarta’s cultural calendar.
From October 28th to November 3rd, the Malecón and the Historic Downtown will be the main stages for more than 28 free experiences.
Some of the most iconic highlights include:
The Monumental Catrina: One of the most recognizable symbols of Puerto Vallarta’s celebration, traditionally displayed near the Malecón lighthouse.
Oceanfront Altars: Offerings honoring loved ones who have passed away, decorated with flowers, candles, and traditional elements.
Flower-Decorated Fishing Boats: A colorful display that connects Mexican traditions with the city’s maritime heritage.
Cultural Activities: Artistic performances and celebrations that bring the streets of the Historic Center to life.
