Puerto Vallarta Joins the 33rd International Mariachi and Charrería Festival
Jalisco is preparing to celebrate one of its most important cultural traditions with the 33rd International Mariachi and Charrería Festival, taking place from August 26 to September 6, 2026.
For 12 days, cities throughout the state will host concerts, equestrian performances, and cultural activities celebrating two of Mexico’s most iconic traditions: mariachi and charrería.
The festival will feature more than 170 activities, with nearly 95% offered free of charge, bringing together performers from Mexico, the United States, Colombia, France, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, and Cuba.
Mariachi Comes to Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta will be one of the destinations participating in this statewide celebration. On August 27 at 7:30 p.m., the Los Arcos Amphitheater will host a free mariachi concert.
With the Pacific Ocean as its backdrop, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to experience one of Mexico’s most recognizable cultural traditions in one of Puerto Vallarta’s most iconic settings.
A Celebration of Culture and Tradition
The festival also celebrates charrería, a tradition deeply rooted in Jalisco and Mexican cultural heritage. On September 5, the Lienzo Charro Nito Aceves will host the Charro Championship, bringing together some of Mexico’s top teams.
After more than three decades, the festival continues to share Mexican music, horsemanship, and traditions with audiences from Mexico and around the world.
